Hey, it’s Valentine’s Day so gotta have some bubbly. This was a very pale rose with gentle fizz and aromas of rose pettles and flint, 70% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay. Good fizz in the mouth and a moderately dry yet refreshing burst of creamy, nutty and mineral flavours. Enjoyed with saucisson and italian ham which really softened the dryness. Not being a champagne afficionado as I often find the taste a bit too spare for my liking, this was extremely approachable. We bought this bottle ages ago at Sainsbury’s for £15, great value! For a special occasion, I’d still consider it at the best available current price as indicated below.
